
The Author started her professional life in a City of London bank, learning organisational skills that were to prove invaluable for the rest of her career. She spent many years working as a primary school teacher before becoming a headmistress.
For twelve years, she worked as a "teaching head", which meant she never lost touch with the classroom. She also provided private tuition, appreciating the particular value of working one-to-one with a child.
Her years of working with young children have given her a unique insight into how to develop a child's skills on an individual basis, coupled with her passionate belief in the importance of a child's early years in education.In her retirement, she found herself constantly producing work sheets at home for her grandchildren. This revealed a niche in the market for a pre-school learning scheme enabling children to achieve the best possible start in education.
The idea of a home kit developed into the Little Learning scheme.
